This single level modern residence is located in Mendoza, Argentina, in an area characterized by foothills and high plains. Casa Godina, as it was named, benefits from a roomy property of 1,500 square meters in the middle of the city, in a residential area. The luxurious single family residence located in a typical continental climatic zone had to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the area, the weather and modern architecture to display a fantastic new facade and interiors that would alter suburban developments in contemporary South America and extend the need for a comfortable and modern lifestyle.

Designed by Medoza-based architectural firm A4 Estudio, the house had to present a fantastic architectural geometry that allows the inhabitants to live an environmentally conscious life. The residence is organized around an interior central courtyard that offers both natural ventilation and natural light. The main living spaces are North-oriented for better solar gain, the private rooms face East, while the service areas face West. A large concrete wall with several geometric intrusions was constructed to protect the interiors from harsh direct sunlight from the West. A micro perforated aluminum material adorns both this concrete wall and the front facade of the house. Take a look at the photos and let us know what you think about Casa Codina.
