The renovations by architecture firm Machado and Silvetti Associates to the Bowdoin College Museum of Art are among 20 projects included in the exhibition, Maine Modern: Fifty Years of Modern Architecture in Maine — but that's just one of many ways in which the College is connected to the show. The exhibition, open through the end of October at Storefront for Architecture Maine at 443 Congress Street in Portland, opened with the presentation of The Maine Prize for Architecture to Philip Isaacson, art critic for the Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram and a 1983 honorary degree recipient.

Carol Wilson, 2005 Coastal Studies scholar in residence, has projects in the show, including the Mere Point house she designed for Moira Greenspun '06. Wilson is the founder of Storefront for Architecture Maine, an organization that seeks to display and inspire fresh, contemporary architecture to the community; she also curated the Maine Modern exhibit.

Yet another connection involves a project designed by former Adjunct Assistant Professor of Art Wiebke Theodore's firm, Theodore + Theodore Architects, with participation from Annie Hancock '10, who built the model while interning this summer and who assisted with the architectural photography of the site.
